Northland Special Education Cooperative
The Northland Special Education Cooperative is comprised
of 10 cooperating independent school districts in Northeastern
Minnesota.. It is held together by a philosophical agreement that
handicapped children in a semi-rural area are better served by
a group of agencies which share resources.

The Institute on Community Integration is a University Affiliated
program on Developmental Disabilities, dedicated to improving
community services and social supports for persons with disabilities

The Transition Coalition
The Transition Coalition based at the University of Kansas has
over the last ten years supported effective practices in transition
planning and services for youth with disabilities. The Transition
Coalition website offers free publications, links to other resources,
and online training modules.

Minnesota Disability Law Center
All of the MDLC’s current fact sheets are available on the

Pacer Center
Pacer is a parent center for families of children and young adults
with all disabilities – physical, mental, learning and emotional.
It is based on a “parents-helping-parents” philosophy.

Council for Exceptional Children
CEC is the largest international professional organization specifically
dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with
exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.
The organization helps professionals obtain conditions and resources
