Alternative Program

Admission Requirements:
All students enrolled in the Alternative Program have been referred by a participating school district within the Northland Special Education Cooperative after having mainstream options for the least restrictive environment explained and attempted. All students are referred with a current individual education plan and evaluation report accompanying them. Students have an emotional or behavioral disorder, are at risk of placement outside the community, and/or on their way back into the community from an alternative placement.

Program Description:
The Alternative Program services students with emotional/behavioral and mental health issues. The objective of the Alternative Program is to a provide therapeutic and individualized academic treatment program that enables a student, with assistance of the family, to successfully complete the program and transition to the mainstream setting.
